75th Anniversary of The Mt. Hood Ski Patrol
Congratulations and Thanks from Timberline Lodge
On the Event of the 75th Anniversary of The Mt. Hood Ski Patrol
RLK and Company, operators of Timberline Lodge, together with all the ski areas on Mt. Hood, congratulate the Mt. Hood Ski Patrol on their 75th anniversary this February. The Mt. Hood Ski Patrol is the oldest volunteer patrol in the West, and the longest continually operated volunteer patrol in the country. The organization traces its roots to 1937 and the building of the road to where Timberline Lodge was being built. Skiers were ascending the mountain in increasing numbers to enjoy the simple joy and exhilaration of sliding down the snowy slopes.
The Mt. Hood Ski Patrol was born and has been here for winter enthusiasts every step of the way. They continue to steadfastly serve the recreating public, regardless what winter weather Mother Nature throws their way. The Mt. Hood Ski Patrol represents the epitome of volunteerism and professionalism at the same time.
We join our many skiers and snowboarders in thanking The Mt. Hood Ski Patrol for their 75 years of hard work, innovation, and dedication, and we wish them Godspeed as they embark on 75 more!
Two great upcoming events will celebrate the anniversary – click them for more details:
