Timberline’s snowshoe trail has closed for the season.

Snowshoeing is a fun and relatively easy winter sport and there is no better place than Timberline to try it out. Looking for an alternative to skiing and snowboarding? Still want to get outside and play in the snow on Mt Hood? Snowshoeing at Timberline may be just the activity you’re looking for.

Check our Events page for upcoming Moonlight Snowshoeing Excursions and overnight packages.

Snowshoeing is a great way to experience the winter wonderland around Timberline Lodge. Our snowshoe trail is approximately 3/4 of a mile long, and is groomed daily.

Snowshoe rentals are available in the Wy’East Day Lodge for $20 per person/per day (limited availability – first come, first serve).

First time snowshoeing? It is pretty easy to learn and inexpensive compared to other winter sports. For more information, check out this article in Snowshoe Magazine.

A few tips to make your snowshoeing adventure an enjoyable one…dress warm! Wearing multiple layers is beneficial so you can take one off after you work up a sweat. Remember a hat, gloves, and goggles. Bring a small backpack with water and snacks. If you’re missing any gear, stop in to our store in the Wy’East Day Lodge. We stock everything you’ll need to get out on the mountain.
