Another historic moment in time is happening at Timberline. This summer, many projects will be underway as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. We invite you to come for a visit and become a part of Timberline's history!
Timberline Lodge, a National Historic Landmark, was built as a Works Progress Administration (WPA) project during the Great Depression. Seventy three years later, Timberline is once again the recipient of federal recovery dollars, this time to address some aging infrastructure, as well as normal wear and tear on the building. This modern day effort is aimed at preserving Timberline Lodge for generations to come. Federal recovery dollars, which are once again targeted at improving a sluggish economy and providing local jobs, will be spent here this summer on such important projects as repaving the parking lot, replacing windows, rebuilding chimneys, improving public restroom facilities, re-flooring the day lodge, and painting the outside of the historic lodge.Still, your guest experience here is our primary concern, and we want to assure you that we are working closely with the U.S. Forest Service and their contractors to maintain our full operation and high standards of service. We will work diligently to minimize any inconvenience that might be caused by construction. We appreciate your understanding during this remarkable historic preservation opportunity, and we welcome any concerns or comments you may have.
