Timberline opens up shop at Portland International Airport
Timberline Lodge unveiled a monumental retail store in Concourse D of the Portland International Airport on Friday, November 18, 2016, at 5:00am. The store’s interior design and merchandising displays are reminiscent of the historic and iconic lodge itself. The space was built with impressive timbers for the entry and ceiling detail, US Forest Service and Mt. Hood wallpaper, and a magnificent stone hearth. Timberline partnered with Skylab Architecture and Bremik Construction to complete the build out.
Last year, Timberline Lodge was awarded a lease to operate a retail store at the Portland International Airport. There were over 100 initial businesses interested in twelve spots. Jenna Stewart, Timberline’s Director of Retail Operations, led Timberline through the initial qualification process. It was her work that earned Timberline the coveted location.
The Timberline store features a mix of locally designed and printed apparel and jewelry, iron work, ceramics and glassware made by local artists and craftsman. The store also offers local snacks, wine, and candies.
The store is about 1,100 square feet and located on the north side of the airport in the D Terminal. You can access the store after passing through security via the sterile access corridor if you’re traveling through the A, B, or C Terminals. Remember Timberline at PDX for last minute gifts when traveling for the holidays.
