FLUIDRIDE CUP Enduro Downhill Mountain Bike Race :: Sept 9-12

This series encompasses 5 individual race days falling into 2 official “Enduro”races. – Enduro racing encompasses 2 or more races over a weekend and winners are determined by the lowest cumulative time over the weekend. The winner of the series will be decided by the lowest cumulative time over the 5 stages (2 races) in the series.

Star Party – An Evening Under The Stars

Present An
“EVENING UNDER THE STARS”

On Saturday evening, July 17th and August 28th, 2010 beginning at 9:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. respectively, the U.S. Forest Service & R.L.K. and Company will host a free “Star Party” at the Amphitheater outside Historic Timberline Lodge. Professors of astronomy Doug McCarty and Dr. Todd Duncan, along with a number of amateur astronomers, will provide telescopes for the public to view galaxies, the Moon, star clusters and planets from an elevation of 6,000 feet on the Southern slope of Mount Hood.

Throughout the night, astronomers will answer questions from the public during this unique “tour” of the night sky.

Children are encouraged to attend.
This program is Free and available to everyone.
Donations are not required but appreciated to ensure programs such as this can be continued in the future.

July 17th Event begins at 9:00 p.m.
August 28th Event begins at 8:00 p.m.

In case of bad weather, an indoor multi-media presentation will be given called “Glimpses of Wonder” that features images and animations from the Hubble Space Telescope as well as other space and earth-based telescopes. It will be informal and guests are encouraged to ask questions. Location: Barlow Room in Timberline Lodge.

Calling all skiers, snowboarders, outdoor enthusiast and volunteers to show your love for Timberline Lodge!

Timberline Lodge, Mt. Hood National Forest
Friends of the Forest Day
August 15, 2010 – 9:30 to 2:00pm

Unite with other volunteers and support restoration efforts around this National Historic Landmark lodge! Volunteers will take part in beautifying the area surrounding Timberline Lodge with a gorgeous up-close view of Mt. Hood through replanting efforts, trail maintenance and amphitheatre area refurbishing.

All ages are welcome!

Learn about one of your favorite Oregon treasures during the lunchtime presentation.

Bonfire Pipe To Pipe

PORTLAND, OR (June 14, 2010)—Bonfire Snowboarding Company is putting the pipe back in Pipe to Pipe at the world’s longest running summer snowboard event July 10th at Windells Snowboard Camp on Mt. Hood.

Riders can expect a 150-foot long half pipe with a full mix of features and rails for unlimited creativity through the jib course, created for the event by Windell’s dig staff, led by Head Digger Keaton Pearson.

This long-standing event is a chance for Ams to ride with the Pro’s including Bode Merrill, Jed Anderson, Desiree Melancon and the Bonfire and Salomon teams. The jam style format, sideline contests, prizes and free food make this an event you won’t want to miss.

Registration is free and starts the morning of the event at 9am. Space is limited and arriving early is encouraged. (Lift ticket purchase is required to get to the event venue).

The skate event will take place in the new concrete park at Windell’s and is sponsored by Creature, Independent Trucks and OJ wheels. Registration starts at 5pm at Windell’s skate park.

Snow Event sponsors include Windells Snowboard Camp, Bonfire Snowboarding, Gatorade, Salomon Snowboards, Skullcandy, Timberline, Magical Go Go and Pom Pom.

About Bonfire Pipe To Pipe

The Bonfire Pipe to Pipe was started by Tim Windell and Bonfire founder Brad Steward to bring the summer snowboard community together for one day of snowboarding, skateboarding, BBQ and fun. The doors of Windell’s private camp is open to the public for one day only,.

What : A world-class Big Air Contest featuring the best freeskiers in the world.

Other Info : The event will be open to the public for spectating and all of the campers at session 3 of Windell’s are invited to watch as well. The competition is an invite-only event.

Pump & Jump Time Trial

We’re setting up a mountain bike freeride style pump track with stunts, jumps, humps and bumps on June 26th. Competitors will race the clock (and each other) as they ride for amazing prizes from a solid lineup of industry sponsors.

FREE to watch! And we’ll have a New Belgium beer garden set up with $3 beers! A great way to spend your afternoon in the sun!

Registration and Practice :: 1pm – 3pm
Practice Jam :: 3pm – 4pm
Time Trials :: 4pm – 6pm

If you’re competing and you’re under 18, bring your parent or legal guardian to sign your release form.

Entry fee is $20 per competitor.

We’ll have prizes for the top competitors in each of the following categories:

USSA Golden Rose Ski Race

Timberline kicks off every summer season with the USSA Golden Rose Ski Race. This year will mark the 74th consecutive running of the race that coincided with the opening of historic Timberline Lodge. The Golden Rose is the longest continually run ski race in North America. The United States Ski Association along with The Mt. Hood Academy and the operators of Timberline organize this traditional race event.
