Eric Kallio plays live music on the Patio
This local singer/songwriter is a slide and finger-style guitarist. Eric describes his instruments: “My National Tricone on the left is played with a glass slide and finger-style. I love it’s bluesy bark and rich sustain! I am holding my 1973 Martin D-28. This is a family guitar passed down by my Aunt Rena. Aged wood = great tone!nOn the right is my 1991 Richrad D’neve square-neck Dobro. I play it with a steel tone bar and boy does it sing!”

Mt. Hood’s very own Eric Kallio accompanies himself on guitar, Dobro, and National steel guitar. He plays songs inspired by his life here on Mt. Hood. As full-time caretaker of the Reed College Cabin in Government Camp, Kallio finds lots of quiet time to hone his skills as an excellent picker, and he finds inspiration for his songs by being close to nature. He will be singing songs from his debut CD, Glass Wood & Steel.
