JUNETEENTH FREEDOM SHRED

Presented by Spencer J. Conley
HONORING 159 YEARS FREEDOM AND CELEBRATION OF THIS AMERICAN HOLIDAY!

Timberline is hosting Coach Spencer Conley and friends to celebrate and honor Juneteenth on Mt. Hood on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. All are invited to join our Juneteenth Freedom Shred, featuring a group shred down Palmer, a Juneteenth flag raising ceremony, and a whole lot of fun.

More details coming soon!

Juneteenth honors the heroic pursuit for freedom for all Americans. On June 19, 1865, Major General Gordon Granger, along with 2,000 Union soldiers, arrived in Galveston, TX, to deliver the news to the last 250,000 enslaved African Americans that they were free. This news came two and a half years after President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. On June 17th, 2021, President Joe Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act into law establishing Juneteenth as a federal holiday, to be celebrated and honored by all Americans as part of our history.
