/>
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (July 16, 2010) – Starting Sunday July 18th, 2011 your favorite riders and their respective signature models will be duking it out at High Cascade Snowboard Camp in the second installment of America’s Next Top Pro Model.

No other aspect of snowboarding blends personality and performance to the same measure as pro models. To many, having your name on a topsheet is an honor above Olympic gold or X Games glory. With this being the case, then winning America’s Next Top Pro Model is an even loftier goal. This is why riders like Marc Frank Montoya are pulling out all of the stops in order to attain an America’s Next Top pro Model title. “Tell these poops they’re DONE! I’m training!!!” says MFM. Yet ANTPM isn’t only about good riding, it is also about good deeds. All the proceeds from the America’s Next Top Pro Model Silent Auction will go to the overall champion’s charity of choice.

From July 18th to the 20th, two dozen pros will be competing in six disciplines to determine whose pro model excels when it comes to spinning, ollieing, straight-line speed, lofting airs, locking into jibs and being the most coveted. In other words, it is time for these big name pros to put their shapes, sidecuts, flexes, p-tex and topsheets to the test to see which signature board is the best. High Cascade Snowboard Camp will be providing the new venue for this year’s event. According to Camp Director Preston G. Strout, “HCSC couldn’t be more thrilled to be hosting America’s Next Top Pro Model! Having all of those well-built models cruising around camp will be exciting. I really hope I get to ride one.” SNOWBOARDER’s publisher Chris Engelsman adds, “Holding the event on Mt. Hood is a perfect location for the pros to test their boards against their peers in a fun atmosphere.”

“MATADOR Snacks is excited to support America’s Next Top Pro Model and provide MATADOR sticks and jerky for all the riders to enjoy on the hill,” said Mark Catlin, marketing director for MATADOR Snacks.

Heikki Sorsa, Iikka Backstrom, TJ Schneider, Austin Smith, Bryan Fox, Marc Frank Montoya, Kyle Clancy, Jesse Burtner, Chris Bradshaw, Lane Knaack, Derek Dennison, Joe Sexton, Keegan Valaika, Chris Grenier, Lucas Magoon, Kale Stephens, Kael Hill, Aaron Biittner, and last year’s returning champion Lauri Heiskari are confirmed to attend. Heiskari had this to say about returning to Timberline to defend his title: “After winning America’s Next Top Pro Model, I got a lot of new Facebook friends and my girlfriend started cooking for me.”

America’s Next Top Pro Model 2011 is being brought to you by SNOWBOARDER Magazine, MATADOR™ by Jack Link’s, High Cascade Snowboard Camp, Timberline Ski Resort and The House. RLK and Company, operators of Timberline Lodge are being recognized for their strengths in the areas of environmental conservation, cultural heritage, historic preservation, and economic development.

STEP is the world’s first comprehensive, global sustainable tourism eco-certification program offered by a non-profit organization, which is aligned with the minimum baseline Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria (GSTC). STEP addresses the major environmental, socio-cultural and economic issues facing the tourism industry and the planet at large, including global climate change, biodiversity preservation, water and waste management, economic development, and social issues.

“STEP is becoming ‘the gold standard’ in sustainable tourism certification in the travel and tourism industry because of its regimented and thorough criteria,” explained Brian T. Mullis, CEO of Sustainable Travel International. “As more industry leaders like Timberline Lodge embrace sustainability, we are hoping that it has a multiplier effect, raising the bar for other hoteliers and ski resorts who also aspire to engage in best practices.”

“Timberline Lodge has a historical commitment to the environment and the community,” said Jeff Kohnstamm, President of RLK and Company. We particularly recognize that we are operating within a cherished natural landscape that is valued for its scenic, historic, recreational, cultural, and economic characteristics. This eco-certification is a real achievement, and it is a rallying point for us. The Sustainable Travel International’s STEP program has provided us with a framework for sustainability that’s aligned with our existing values and business operations, but it has also prompted us to drive our commitments toward these things even deeper. It is helping us with decision making that is rooted in our concern for environmental and social responsibility. It is a work in progress, and it involves a process of continual improvement geared towards a very comprehensive view of sustainability.”

Some of the best practices instituted at Timberline Lodge that paved the way for the company to achieve certification include:

* an active Timberline employee-led “Green Team.”
* a dynamic partnership with the US Forest Service and the Friends of Timberline in collaborative stewardship of the facility and interpretation of its history to the general public.
* a thorough health and safety program for employees and guests.
* a comprehensive company-wide recycling program including in-room recycling for overnight guests.
* an action-oriented energy reduction plan and recent energy efficiency upgrades new thermo pane windows in all of its guest rooms.<br
