2009 Sandy High School Snowsports Swap

Get ready for the Sandy High School Snowsports Swap. This annual sale is one of the largest “swap” consignment events in the Portland‐Metro area. Sale items consist of consigned and donated items as well as a huge inventory of new equipment from Gresham’s Hillcrest Sports and other retailers in the area. Each year the high school gym is packed with new and used equipment for snowboarding, alpine and nordic skiing, winter apparel, gloves, eyewear, children’s items, collectibles and more! Outdated equipment, such as straight skis, should not be considered for sale. We recommend donating equipment such as this to a charity retailer.

Personal appearances by local ski industry legends, ski area representatives, prizes, raffles, silent auction items, and additional fun abound. This is an event for the whole family to come out and enjoy!

The Sandy High School Snowsports Swap will take place on Saturday, November 21st in Gym B at Sandy High School. Doors will open at 9:00AM on the day of the sale and close at 5:00PM. There will be an Early Bird sale on Friday, November 20th, from 6:00PM to 9:00PM. Admission will be $2.00 for adults, $1.00 for children (12 & under) or $5.00 per family at the door. Admission is FREE all day Saturday. Cash and checks only, no credit/debit cards accepted at the sale.

This is a great opportunity to clear out closets and garages of used winter sports equipment and clothing. Consignment and donation items will be accepted at the sale site on Friday, November 20th, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. However, this year, the recommended method for registering your items ahead of time is via www.sandysnowsports.com. The ski team charges a 30% consignment fee for all items sold during the sale. Consignment fees and door donations are tax deductible. All unsold items must be picked up by 5PM on Saturday or they will be considered donations.

The Sandy High School Ski Team sponsors this event. Proceeds from the sale help offset the costs of on‐ mountain training and competitions during the upcoming race season. This is a fantastic opportunity to purchase equipment at a very low price and to support one of Oregon’s scholastic ski teams.

Early Season Pleasin’ Rail Jam

Come kick off the start of another great season at our season opener rail jam. Open Format. For intermediate to advanced skiers and riders. Registration runs from 11 am – 12 pm, jam runs from noon to 2ish. FREE entry with your season pass, or $10 without a pass.

If your under 18 print a release form, get a parents signature on it, and bring it with you (unless mommy or daddy will be here too).

Governor Kulongowski has officially proclaimed January 2010 to be Learn a Snowsport Month in Oregon. A statewide promotion is underway to promote all the goodness that comes with skiing and riding the slopes and enjoying an active winter lifestyle in Oregon. We are pleased to announce that Steve Muise has joined our professional staff as the new Director of Timberline’s Snowsport Center. Steve will soon be rolling out new learning programs with an energized focus on freestyle terrain for all ability levels.

Timberline Culinary Series – Fireside Brunch and More: Historic Timberline Lodge offers Oregon’s only ski-in/ski out lodging as well as the first rate Northwest Fresh cuisine of chef Leif Eric Benson. Easy access in and out of the lodge and a new fireside brunch will guarantee an elegant but convenient experience, first-rate service, and a sampling of the region’s best culinary offerings.

New Winter Entrance: A newly designed and constructed winter entrance is now in place at the entrance of Timberline Lodge. This stunning and innovative design was created by the Portland architecture firm of Rhiza A&D. We are ready for the snow to fly!
