Fresh Snow and Clearing Skies Finally Bring Improving Conditions to the Ski Slopes
After an admittedly stormy and challenging weather pattern during the holidays and into the first week of January, Timberline is back in full operation and is encouraged by the weather forecast for this coming weekend. After receiving 8 inches of fresh snow overnight on Wednesday and into Thursday morning, patches of blue sky began revealing themselves on the mountain, giving a glimpse of what forecasters are saying will be a much dryer and beautiful weekend.
“This is what we have been waiting for!” said Timberline spokesman Jon Tullis. “With all the extreme weather in the region, it has been a disappointing holiday season both in town and on the slopes, but the winter ski season is still young, and the best is yet to come.”
The ski area has a 109 inch base of snow and the slopes are groomed up to provide excellent ski and snowboard conditions. “I think folks are really ready to get back outside in the sunshine and hit the slopes,” said Tullis, “and we’re ready to show them a great time.”
