March 21st Brings the Biggest Snow Event of the Year!

Just when Spring has supposedly sprung, Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood has received the largest daily snowfall of the year! An epic 19 inches of snow fell in the last 24 hours, bringing our total annual snowfall (since Since September 1) to 424 inches, and the ski area’s base total to 198 inches. Cold temperatures associated with this storm front have produced epic winter-like powder skiing conditions.

This snow event is particularly significant when you consider the unusually warm temperatures being experienced throughout the rest of the country’s northern tier states. The Pacific Northwest has been the exception to this winter’s relative low snowfall elsewhere in the U.S. Resort operators at Timberline and summer ski and snowboard camp operators are particularly pleased with the snow.

In addition to proving excellent spring ski conditions, this ensures an excellent summer ski season on Timberline’s famous Palmer Snowfield.
