Camping

While overnight camping is not permitted at Timberline Lodge facilities, there are many Mt Hood camping options close by that offer access to pristine wilderness and breathtaking views.

We will always encourage you to spend the night at Timberline Lodge, but we know that sometimes you like to get out and really experience nature first hand. Although camping is not permitted at Timberline Lodge facilities, the following campgrounds are close by:

Alpine Campground
Located on Timberline Road, 1 mile from Timberline Lodge. The 16 campsites are tent-only and available first-come, first-served from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Still Creek Campground
Located 1/2 mile east on U.S. 26 on the banks of Still Creek. A variety of Mt Hood hiking, biking and horse-back riding trails can be accessed from this campground, and fly-fishing is very popular here. Still Creek Campground has more than two dozen tent and RV sites and offers

Trillium Lake Campground
Located approximately 2 miles East on U.S. 26 to Trillium Lake Rd. Boating, fishing and swimming are popular attractions of Trillium Lake, which offers dozens of tent and RV camping sites.

Mt Hood RV Village
Located in Welches, midway between Timberline and Sandy. The Mt Hood RV Village offers over 300 Mt Hood camping accommodations including yurts, small cabins, tent and RV sites.
