Activites, Meals & Daily Schedule
Family Camp is tailored to families with younger children and our activities are modified to be age specific. New this year will be a guided fishing experience.
We train/ski early to take advantage of the best conditions. You will have a wonderful time with your family and go home tired but loaded with great memories you will always treasure.
In order to minimize the hassles and allow you to save your energy for the slopes we eat breakfast in the renowned Cascade Dining Room located in Timberline Lodge and just steps away from your room. The breakfast buffet includes many hot options and a very popular make your own waffle station. There is plenty of healthy options and something to satisfy everyone.
Our counselors are truly the best. Last year they included three collegiate athletes and a school teacher, all of whom love skiing and all that camp has to offer. During Family Camp we also have at least two interns who have been stand out campers in the past. They are there to make sure every detail is attended to, that everyone has a great time, and to give the parents some time off. If you have very young children in camp we do ask that you attend the afternoon activities but once back at the lodge we will have evening activities for the kids and adult time for the parents.
Afternoon activities include:
• Swimming in the pool at Timberline Lodge
• Hiking in the beautiful Oregon forests
• Field sports for all ages
• Intro to windsurfing or kiteboarding along the Columbia River in Hood River
• Shopping at the Columbia River Outlet Center
• Rafting on the Deschutes River located just 45 minutes away in the Oregon Desert
In addition to our respected core staff we hire an elite staff of coaches to fill out our roster for Family Camp. Last year they included present and past PSIA National Team members. Visit our staff section to learn more about our coaching and camp staff.
Dinners include meals at Timberline Lodge and the Ice Axe Grill,. Your family will enjoy two different BBQ outings including one next to the scenic Deschutes river. Our final evening at camp is designed to celebrate your visit to Timberline and to enjoy friends. Parents are treated to a wine vault tour and dinner in the Cascade Dining room while their kids have their own party and movie night downstairs in the Barlow Room. All just steps away from your room at Historic Timberline Lodge.
