Timberline Opens Trails on Lower Mountain
Timberline Ski Area is pleased to announce the opening of its lower mountain ski trails. Timberline spokesman Jon Tullis reports that “Mother Nature has once again blessed us with a lower mountain opening in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. 11 inches of snow fell on Monday night, bringing the base total to 27 inches, and the slopes are groomed up. We are ready to go!” Still, early season conditions exist and the ski area reminds everyone to use caution. The ski area is open 7 days a week, and will be transitioning to regular 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. winter hours of operation starting on Wednesday, November 21st. The Pucci, Molly’s, Bruno, and Stormin’ Norman chairlifts, in addition to the upper mountain’s Magic Mile and Palmer lifts are expected to operate through the holiday period weather permitting. Even more terrain and lifts will open as snow continues to fall and conditions allow.
Timberline reminds visitors to be prepared for winter driving conditions and that Oregon Sno park permits are now in effect. For more information on current conditions and operating schedules, please visit www.timberlinelodge.com or call the Snow Phone at 502 222-2211.
