Mt Hood Stargazing Party


Star PartyThe U.S. Forest Service & Timberline Present

On Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 8:30 p.m., the U.S. Forest Service & Timberline will host a free* Mt Hood Stargazing Party at historic Timberline Lodge.  The program will be held in the Salmon River Parking Lot just east of the Lodge, beginning with a brief introduction at 8:30 followed by stargazing throughout the evening.

Astronomy Professor Dr. Todd Duncan of the Science Integration Institute and several amateur astronomers will provide telescopes for the public to view the Moon, Saturn, ancient star clusters, dying stars and the center of the Milky Way from an elevation of 6,000 feet.

*Children are encouraged to attend the Star Party. This program is free and available to everyone. Donations are not required but appreciated to ensure programs such as this can be continued in the future.
