Full Moon Snowshoe

On Thursday, April 29th, join us on one of our complimentary guided full moon snowshoe strolls this winter and explore the open fields and forests around Timberline Lodge with a guide. Meet in the lower lobby at 7:30pm. The snowshoe hike will start at 8pm.

Make it a celebration and stay the night! A hotel room package is $275 plus tax and includes a hotel room for two and snowshoes for two. BOOK NOW

The full moon snowshoe tour will proceed snow, rain or shine. The group will meet in the Lower Lobby of Timberline Lodge by the USFS Desk ½ hour prior to start time. The guided 3/4 mile full moon snowshoe tour is complimentary – please bring snowshoes or rent them from us. Our Wy’East Rental Shop opens at 9am and closes at 4pm daily.

If you are an overnight guest with the snowshoe package you may pick up your snowshoes at the front desk. Additional snowshoes may be rented at $20 per pair.

If you ARE NOT an overnight guest with the snowshoe package, please bring your own snowshoes. Or, you must arrive by 3:30 pm in order to rent them from our Rental Shop, which closes at 4pm. We are not able to accept email requests for snowshoe rentals. Remember, if you are renting snowshoes to wear appropriate clothing and your own boots.

The program will be held in the Salmon River Parking Lot just east of the Lodge, beginning with a brief introduction at 8:30 followed by stargazing throughout the evening.

Astronomy Professor Dr. Todd Duncan of the Science Integration Institute and several amateur astronomers will provide telescopes for the public to view the Moon, Saturn, ancient star clusters, dying stars and the center of the Milky Way from an elevation of 6,000 feet.*

Make a night of it and join us for dinner and/or drinks in the Ram’s Head Bar, Cascade Dining Room, or the Blue Ox Bar before the stargazing begins.

*Children are encouraged to attend the Star Party. This program is free and available to everyone. Donations are not required but appreciated to ensure programs such as this can be continued in the future.

Each year we find a beautiful 30’ tall evergreen to adorn the Main Lobby Headhouse and kick off the holidays! Join us on Friday, December 8, 20167 at 6pm when we officially light up the tree. Afterwards continue the fun and help us decorate. We will sing carols after the lighting for anyone who wants to join in! You may also enjoy the view from the Ram’s Head Bar and Restaurant with a warm or frosty beverage. Or, continue the festive fun with dinner in the Cascade Dining Room.

A wintry evening of skiing or snowboarding is such a memorable way to enjoy the last day of the year that many have made it an annual tradition. Night skiing begins at 4:00pm and continues until midnight. Dance the night away with Nobody’s Sweetheart. Warm up in the Ram’s Head Bar and watch our beautiful fireworks show at 10:00pm.
